What’s in the jar?
Pure honey with a soft cottony flavour

Why is it great?
The world of Honey Shop is truly full of surprises, isn’t it? We are sure that you never thought even in your wildest dreams that cotton can be used for making honey! Because we always think of a cotton plant loaded with white puffy balls which obviously don’t have any nectar. But here’s the thing, before those cotton balls appear, the plant blossoms with beautiful white-creamy flowers for a very short time. And that’s when our harvesters get into action.

Cotton flowers have a very short life – 5 to 7 days only. Even more short-lived is the nectar life – only day 1 of the flowers gives nectar to the bees. From next day onwards, the bees reroute themselves to the leaf-like floral part at the base of the actual flower and collect another nectar from here. The most impressive feat is that the honey harvested from the extra-floral nectar is exactly similar to the honey harvested from the flower. The honey is light in colour and the flavour is buttery with some juicy fruity undernotes. The honey is really sweet but gives a mild tingle at the back of the throat after consumption. The mild flavour makes it a great table honey.

Description

  • It has strong anti-bacterial properties
  • The nectars from cotton plant contain some important amino acids that make way into the honey too
  • It has a good amount of anti-oxidants, making it a great immunity booster

Most of the valuable herbs are actually household names for us. Just like Eucalyptus which is more popularly called as Nilgiri. The moment we talk about it, memories of soothing aromatic oils rush to our mind. You might have done a lot with it till now, but have you ever eaten it? Well now you can, with our Eucalyptus honey! Eucalyptus flowers readily attract bees due to their bright colours and abundant nectar. Eucalyptus honey is mostly mono-floral i.e. obtained majorly form one species of flower. It is slightly darker than normal honey and has a very pleasant aromatic smell. It is not too sweet and has medium herbal note to it. The honey offers almost all the medicinal values of Eucalyptus with a refreshingly warm and woody caramel aftertaste. It works amazingly well as a healthy sweetener to your drinks, teas and as salad dressings. What’s in the jar? Pure honey nourished by the brightest Sunflowers Why is it great? Isn’t sunflower like one of the most multi-talented plants out there? It gives us one of the best cooking oil, its seeds are full of nutrition and the flower itself is such a delight for the eyes. Now add to this list one of the most preferred honey types – sunflower honey. In nations like France and Spain, sunflower honey is among the highest ranked types. Well, we thought, why not introduce Indians to this golden delight. Our harvesters, after exhaustive research, choose the most appropriate and quality location for placing the bee boxes. Sunflower honey is harvested from the mesmerizing sunflower fields in Nagpur, Maharashtra, during the winters. As bees are capable of imparting properties of the blossom to the honey. So just like the sunflowers, this honey too, is golden yellow, bright and full of health. It has a mild taste and flavour, making it apt for use as a daily sweetener. What’s in the jar? Pure honey with the goodness of Kashmiri acacia Why is it great? There are more than 300 types of honey out there, but the one that is considered the Best in the world is Acacia honey. Acacia is a plant native to Kashmir and is the major source of summer honey. Due to the flower being yellow, Acacia honey has a pleasant pale yellow colour and is super clear due to its extra slow crystallization. Hence, it looks way more gorgeous than other honeys. It has a very subtle flavour and no after taste. This allows you to have it in more amounts without feeling heavy or sweet sick, making it an apt replacement for processed jams and heavy calorie sweeteners. Hence, it is has a high demand in the European and American markets. Most of the produce is exported and almost none is left for our own people. But we ensure that you are not denied of this natural goodness, anymore. We do enough collection of this gorgeous honey to make it available for you all year long. Every jar of Acacia honey at the Honey Shop is as beautiful as the cluster of acacia flowers amidst the vibrant Kashmiri valleys. What’s in the jar? Benefits of ajwain with honey Why is it great? Let us help you understand. Honey Shop India is not into flavoured honeys. We strongly condemn anything that messes around with the natural goodness of honey. So when we say ajwain honey we are talking about real honey harvested from the flowers of organic ajwain plants. The clever bees bring the health benefits of ajwain into every drop of honey produced, naturally. Ajwain is extensively grown in India hence, its availability is abundant. But the plant sure has a limited blooming period making time a crucial parameter for assuring quality and potency. Our harvesters place the bee boxes near blooming ajwain fields so that the bees get the freshest of the nectar for their work, quickly. This honey is loaded with health benefits, has a strong flavour and a very aromatic fragrance. Ajwain Honey is a great way of bringing Ajwain back into your diet. What’s in the jar? Honey with berrylicious goodness of sidr Why is it great? Did you know that sidr tree is believed to be guarding the only gateway to God? According to a narration in Quran, beyond the Sidr tree on the 7 th sky, lies the realm of God where even the mighty angels cannot enter. Such is the majestic legacy of sidr and the honey harvested from this gorgeous tree is equally spell bounding. A lot of people believe that only the sidr grown in Arabian countries are authentic. Well that is not true. Over the years, the tree has made way to a lot of other countries, India being one of them. Rajasthan, the stunning desert landscape has a vast expanse of Sidr or Wild Berry far away from human populace and pollution. What makes sidr honey such a novel thing is the fact that the trees bloom only for around 30 days in a year. Hence, the timing and technique are of immense importance. Our expert harvesters always ensure that the bees get to the right plants, at the right time. Sidr honey has a golden colour but it can darken over time. It is very sticky, has an aromatic smell and a rich buttery taste with very little to no aftertaste.
